Dental X-Rays are often a controversial topic when it comes to patient care. Most patients that come into our practice are extremely pleased, almost mesmerized, by the digital X-Rays that we offer them. They’ll come from an office that has older technology where they have the small, little films and the Doctor holds them up in the air and tells them this is what I’m looking at, do you see it, and the patient looks at it and they’re glazed over because they don’t know what they’re looking at.
Digital X-Rays offer us the ability to display that on a computer screen with contrasting variations that allow the patient to see in better detail what we’re seeing. Digital X-Rays are faster, 80% to 90% less radiation exposure to the patient, which is always a plus. There’s no chemicals, no processing time. If there’s a mistake in an X-Ray or we don’t get what we’re looking for, we can retake the image within a matter of moments. We also offer a digital panorex machine and it is very advanced and there’s very few in Southern California that have this machine and we can offer our patient a digital panorex that allows our Oral Surgeons, our Periodontists to evaluate the jaw as a whole and look for areas of pathology, look for areas for implant placement and for third molar removal. So our Specialists are using that type of digital X-Ray technology to their advantage and they’re offering our patient the highest level of care that is available today.
